Visitor Parking
Welcome to the University of California, Irvine!
A valid parking permit is required at all times when parking on campus. Visitors may purchase a permit at any information kiosk, dispenser, or through UCI Transportation’s PARKbyPLATE system when in select parking areas. All options accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).
Physical permits must be displayed. For purchases made through PARKbyPLATE, your license plate serves as your permit.
Please visit our interactive campus map for permit purchase locations. If you would prefer to speak with a parking attendant at an information kiosk, refer to the map of kiosks and available hours.
If you are visiting faculty or staff member from another UC campus or the UCI Medical Center, please review our Permit Reciprocity policy. Departments wishing to purchase visitor parking for their guests, please use our Guest Permit System.

When and Where to Park
"GNA" General Visitor Permit
Valid Parking:
- Monday-Friday (7 a.m.-12 a.m.): In general unassigned stalls in parking Zones 1-6 and Lot 1
- Monday-Friday (5 p.m.-12 a.m.) & Saturday-Sunday (All Day): In general unassigned stalls, “P” preferred, and “AR” reserved stalls not marked “Enforced 24 Hours” in all parking areas
"E" Evening Permit
Valid Parking:
- Monday-Friday (5 p.m.-12 a.m.) & Saturday-Sunday (All Day): In general unassigned stalls, “P” preferred, and “AR” stalls not marked “Enforced 24 Hours” in all parking areas
- White stalls only in the East Campus Parking Structure (ECPS)
Overnight Parking Permit
Valid Parking:
- 24 hours after purchase
- In general unassigned stalls in Zones 1-6 surface parking lots only (not parking structures)
"OV" Oversized Vehicle Permit
Vehicles that will not fit into one standardized parking stall must purchase an Oversized Vehicle (OV) permit from information kiosks or permit dispensers. Overnight camping is prohibited at all times on the UCI campus.
Valid Parking:
- All day along Health Sciences Road (south of Michael Drake Drive)
