Geographic Information System

UCI is part of the UC Systemwide Esri Institutional Agreement, which provides access to ArcGIS, Esri’s leading geographic information system (GIS) software. Faculty, staff, and students may begin using these mapping tools by logging into the campus’ ArcGIS Online portal with their UCInetID and password.

The campus’ mapping network is comprised of digital and physical resources and systems. From providing directions for road users to analyzing geospatial data for campus development plans, this network is designed to connect the information on each of the mapping systems and maintain accurate data.

To assess areas where these systems intersect, T&DS utilizes GIS software that facilitates the collection and analysis of geospatial datasets.
